The 98-year-old Greenwich Chamber of Commerce will present 2015 Greenwich Sidewalk Sale Days, running July 9 through July 12, 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Chamber President and CEO Marcia O”™Kane said the popular event has been running more than 20 years.
Businesses have been alerted through chamber channels and O”™Kane said are participating more than ever. O”™Kane said the chamber”™s deadline for businesses that want to be included in the event”™s written materials is Friday.
“We”™re good with the retailers,” she said. “We”™re going to surpass the number we had last year. We want the shoppers. We want them to know how important this weekend is for our businesses.
“Our mantra is shop local, buy local,” she said. “There will be sales and discounts. We urge people to wear comfortable walking shoes and stay late for dinner. Make it a family affair.” She called the weekend “a true shopping extravaganza.”
This year”™s Greenwich Sidewalk Sales Days will also include live music, balloon artists and face painting on Saturday and Sunday. The chamber bills it as the longest sidewalk sales event held in the region. For more information, visit Greenwichchamber.com.
