Danbury-based Ethan Allen last month opened a showroom in Qatar on The Pearl, the country”™s multimillion-square-foot artificial island. The 1,000-square-foot store is called the Ethan Allen Design Center at Medina Centrale or Ethan Allen Doha. The island is in Doha Bay.
The company said the store will display “all-new icons of livable luxury.” Furniture, rugs, drapery, lighting and art are available.
The store features interactive touchscreens to assist shoppers. Professional designers are also in-store, in the company”™s words, “to help clients take the guesswork out of making the best selections, and their services are complimentary.”
Ethan Allen’s partner in the new Design Center is Qatar-based Abu Issa Holding.
Ethan Allen maintains 300 design centers globally. It owns and operates five manufacturing plants and one sawmill in the U.S., and one plant each in Mexico and Honduras.
