Sherwin-Williams Inc., the 149-year-old paint and coatings company, has leased approximately 3,800 square feet of space for a new retail store at 1900 Central Ave. in Yonkers.
The December deal was announced by building owner Curco Properties of New Canaan, Conn. The landlord said  the building will undergo a complete renovation as a home improvement center.
“This is an excellent opportunity for us to add a powerhouse leader in home improvement such as Sherwin- Williams” said Gary J. Curto, president of Curco Properties. He said the deal helps his company continue to develop its design district along Central Avenue, which includes other design retailers such as Curto”™s Appliances, Allen Carpet Tile and Stone and Saw Mill Kitchens.
Based in Cleveland, Sherwin-Williams operates 4,000 neighborhood paint stores nationwide and racks up $10.1 billion in annual sales.
