The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority will host a Combined Heat and Power Expo on Friday in Tarrytown for owners and managers of commercial, industrial and multifamily buildings with monthly electric bills over $5,000.
NYSERDA officials said the event, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel at 455 S. Broadway, will connect attendees with pre-approved vendors of combined heat and power equipment and other organizations offering financial incentives and technical support for the installation of CHP systems. Those systems generate electricity for buildings on-site and recover the heat byproduct from the generator.
NYSERDA officials said expo attendees will learn how they can capture more energy savings and improve the resiliency of their buildings. NYSERDA’s CHP programs offer incentives for 50-kilowatt and larger cogeneration systems.
Along with NYSERDA staff , representatives will be on hand from the U.S. Department of Energy”™s CHP Technical Assistance Partnership, Consolidated Edison”™s Distributed Generation group, National Grid and the New York City Energy Efficiency Corp.
