Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor wants to partner with NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, the latest in a slew of medical center mergers and partnerships in the area as the health care industry continues to shift.
The center”™s board of directors voted to pursue the partnership, which would be subject to regulatory approvals. The center acknowledged the merger Monday, according to The Business Council of Westchester, which lists both Hudson Valley and NewYork-Presbyterian as members.
The partnership follows the news last month that Bronxville”™s Lawrence Hospital joined NewYork-Presbyterian and was renamed NewYork-Presbyterian/Lawrence Hospital. Lawrence was one of four hospitals in the Stellaris Health Network, all of which broke off from the parent organization in June 2013 and have since pursued partnerships with larger metropolitan health care systems.
Former Stellaris members Northern Westchester Hospital in Mount Kisco and Phelps Memorial Hospital Center in Sleepy Hollow linked up with the North Shore-LIJ Health System. The fourth Stellaris hospital, White Plains Hospital, joined Bronx-based Montefiore Health System. Montefiore last year purchased in a bankruptcy proceeding two Sound Shore Medical System hospitals in New Rochelle and Mount Vernon.
