Waterbury-based Webster Bank”™s banking center and Webster Private Bank facility at 85 Mason St. in Greenwich boasts “greener than thou” bona fides, netting a nearly perfect score on a federal green-certification scale.
The 3,000-square-foot building was remodeled in 2013 as a Webster facility.
The building meets Energy Star ratings for those “that meet strict energy standards set by the EPA to save energy, save money and help protect the environment by generating fewer greenhouse gas emissions, without sacrificing performance,” according to Webster.
To receive the Environmental Protection Agency certification, a building must score 75 of 100 in a battery of green metrics. Webster scored 95.
“This certification is very much a part of our philosophy of living up to exceptional customer service,” said Michael O”™Connor, senior vice president and director of corporate real estate at Webster. “Going green and being energy efficient is part of that standard of excellence.”
