Two new partners at law firm
Helen Collier Mauch and David Cooper have become partners in the Zarin & Steinmetz law firm in White Plains.
Cooper brings more than 10 years experience to the firm”™s litigation practice, which includes both trial and appellate matters in local, state and federal courts. Prior to joining Zarin & Steinmetz, Cooper served as an assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney”™s Office.
Mauch has extensive experience representing private interests and municipalities in the areas of land use and environmental law. Her practice includes brownfield site remediation, complex cost recovery litigation and real estate and land-use transactions. Prior to joining Zarin & Steinmetz in 2005, Mauch worked at Rosenman & Colin in New York City.
CPC relocates office to Ossining
The Community Preservation Corp., a mortgage lender for multifamily affordable housing in New York state, recently celebrated the relocation of its Hudson Valley office to 2 Church St. in the village of Ossining.
Doug Olcott, senior vice president and director of CPC”™s Hudson Valley region, who has been with the lender for more than 20 years, will continue to lead the office.

ENTA doctor publishes self-help book
ENT and Allergy Associates in Tarrytown has announced that Jonathan Aviv, MD, the clinical director of the practice”™s Voice and Swallowing Center has just published a self-help book on acid reflux disease titled “Killing Me Softly From Inside,” available at Amazon.com.

Associate joins Eckert Seamans
Eric A. Sauter has joined the White Plains office of Eckert Seamans Cherin and Mellott L.L.C. law firm as an associate in the real estate finance group. Prior to joining the firm, Sauter was with Welby Brady & Greenblatt L.L.P.
Sauter previously worked in both the construction law and real estate practice fields representing owners, sureties, construction managers, architects, engineers, general contractors and subcontractors in complex litigation and alternative dispute resolution proceedings and representing investment property owners, developers, lenders, buyers and sellers in real estate practice, including purchase/sales, leasing, financing, planning and zoning matters.
Sauter earned his law degree from St. John”™s University School of Law, and his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan. He is licensed to practice in New York.
New Rochelle Opera honors two
Metropolitan Opera soprano Lucine Amara and “Voice of the Stars” Marni Nixon will be honored by the New Rochelle Opera at its spring gala May 8 at 6:30 p.m. at the Fountainhead, 55 Quaker Ridge Road in New Rochelle.
Each year, the opera company selects honorees who have had exemplary careers in opera or in the performing arts. “Each of these ladies has had a illustrious career in her own right and we are so proud to add them to our growing list of honorees,” said NRO Artistic Director Camille Coppola. The opera has previously honored entertainment notables, including Robert Merrill, Licia Albanese, Tony Randall, Barbara Cook and Matthew Polenzani.

Director of commercial services appointed
Licensed real estate broker Paul J. Pallett has been appointed director of commercial services at RE/MAX Prime Properties, Scarsdale office. Pallett has 35 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and is recognized for his record of success with both individual and major corporate clients in Westchester, Rockland and the Bronx.

In January, Pallett brokered the $2.1 million sale of 39 Lawrence St. in Yonkers. This property, with a 33,000-square-foot warehouse, will be converted to an art gallery and workshop producing sculptures and other scenery for Broadway productions.
EPRI names Quiniones vice chairman
The Electric Power Research Institute in California has appointed Gil C. Quiniones, president and CEO of the New York Power Authority, as a vice chairman.
“Gil is well-suited to lead our board because he brings keen insight on the challenges faced by the industry and a clear vision that technology provides the best solution to meet those challenges,” said Michael W. Howard, EPRI president and CEO. “We are also privileged to have new members, all of whom have broad and deep industry experience join us as well.”
EPRI, conducts research and development relating to the generation, delivery and use of electricity for the benefit of the public. An independent, nonprofit organization, EPRI brings together its scientists and engineers as well as experts from academia and industry to help address challenges in electricity, including reliability, efficiency, affordability, health, safety and the environment.

Veronica Bazan of Thornwood and Lucille Geraci-Miranda of Peekskill have joined the Westchester Enterprise Development Center in White Plains. Bazan has become the organization”™s full-time program specialist and business counselor, and Geraci-Miranda is director of development.
Bazan has a strong background in small business, teaching and microlending. She previously worked as a bilingual analyst at Accion East and Online, where she helped small business owners prepare and procure loans. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration with a concentration in entrepreneurship from the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University. Bazan also holds a degree in education from the Instituto Superior de Formacion Docente in her home country of Argentina. She has helped to grow the WEDC Spanish program, and enabled in-house loan counseling and assistance with the NYS Minority/Women Business
Geraci-Miranda brings expertise she developed during her extensive career in corporate public affairs, nonprofit management, academia, volunteer leadership and consulting. She is the founder of Geranda Projects, an initiative that offers guidance to community and nonprofit organizations in need of assistance on a project basis. She holds a Master of Public Administration and Nonprofit Management degree from Pace University and a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Concordia College. She has served as an adjunct professor in the Graduate Program for Media and Communication Arts at Pace University and was co-president of the Association of Development Officers, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the advancement of fundraising and philanthropy in the Hudson Valley region.
Greyston to honor three
The Westchester Bank; Joe Armentano, CEO and board chairman of Paraco Gas Corp.; and Lucy Moreno-Casanova, Greyston Foundation”™s community gardens coordinator will be honored by the foundation at its annual benefit May 21.
