Two women-owned business organizations on March 20 will co-host a Stamford event honoring four female entrepreneurs who have successfully started and expanded their own businesses.
The event, titled “Ladies Making History,” is co-sponsored by Ladies Who Launch Connecticut and Unleash Your Voice. It will be held at the Safavieh Home Furnishings at 230 Atlantic St. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Keynote speaker Linda McMahon, who co-founded World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. with her husband and served as the company’s CEO, will discuss the achievements of four Connecticut women who have demonstrated how their innovative ideas gave them greater visibility in the entrepreneurial world.
The Vince and Linda McMahon Family Foundation will award a total of $4,000 in grants to the four women. Winners won’t be announced until the evening of the event.
“Our mission is to make entrepreneurship available to all women by offering them resources to help them start and grow their businesses,” said Kathy McShane, managing director of Ladies Who Launch, in a written statement.
Both organizations are committed to helping women “stop settling for less” and “start living without limits,” said Allyson Spellman, CEO of Unleash Your Voice. She added that the event celebrates women who are making history by “creating their own legacy” through their business.
