Naomi Adler, CEO and president of United Way of Westchester and Putnam, will leave the organization in April after more than a decade with the group.
Adler served as the president of United Way of Rockland for nearly seven years before she became the CEO and president of the United Way of Westchester and Putnam six years ago.
She has been an advocate for emergency food and shelter assistance and bolstered the 2-1-1 help line for residents in the lower Hudson Valley, which took 25,000 calls during and after Hurricane Sandy.
She has worked with volunteers and staff to create programs for underprivileged children and single mothers, according to the group.
Adler will step into her new role as the CEO of Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia in May.
The United Way of Westchester and Putnam, which invests into the community more than $12 million annually, established a board-led search committee to fill Adler’s position.
“We are looking for a very strong candidate who will be a passionate advocate for critical programs such as United Way’s 2-1-1 and make strides in our education, income and health initiatives,” said Gregory D. Bassuk, chair of the organization’s board of directors and COO of IndexIQ, in a written statement.
He said that the position calls for leveraging local, state and national relationships and working across private, public and corporate sectors. Candidates can view the full job description and application process online.Â
