A free financial advice conference will be held March 23 at Westchester Community College”™s (WCC) Gateway Center.
The conference, hosted by the WCC”™s Center for Financial and Economic Education and Alumni Association, will offer area residents an opportunity to get financial advice from experts within the Hudson Valley, including representatives from Merrill Lynch, JPMorgan Chase, Ameriprise Financial, and BNC Insurance & Risk Advisors.
The conference will tackle topics like planning for retirement, estate planning, investing basics, elder care, social security, insurance, managing credit and debt, paying for college, and starting a business.
Suzanne Matthews, director of the Center for Financial and Economic Education, said the event was put together because “we all recognize the urgent need that many individuals have for accurate and unbiased financial information.”
In an effort to broaden the event’s reach, the college is partnering with the Westchester Financial Education Alliance, which includes the United Way of Westchester and Putnam, the Financial Planning Association of the Greater Hudson Valley, and GreenPath Debt Solutions.
The Westchester Public/Private Partnership for Aging Services is also a partner. The conference will feature Kiran Chetry, broadcast news commentator, as the keynote speaker.
