The New York Rangers and Chase Bank are teaming up to help refurbish the Playland Ice Casino.
New York Rangers Assist is a community-based program designed to improve youth hockey opportunities. The program will be assisting the Ice Casino and a hockey rink on Long Island that was heavily damaged by Hurricane Sandy. Playland alone suffered $12 million in damage, with the Ice Casino taking the brunt of it.
At the Ice Casino, the program will provide a new refrigeration system along with roof and structural repairs.
“With local youth hockey programs scrambling to find ice time, the Rangers and Chase initiative will help repair the Ice Casino and hasten its reopening, which will certainly gladden the hearts of local hockey enthusiasts and ice skaters,” said Westchester County Legislator Judith Myers in a statement.
