Attorney General Eric Schneiderman”™s Charities Bureau revealed data from 88 charitable organizations that raised money for Hurricane Sandy relief. Together, they received roughly $400 million in donations.
The top five included: American Red Cross with $188 million, Robin Hood Foundation with $67 million, The Mayor”™s Fund to Advance New York City with $45 million, Empire State relief fund with $15.4 million, and the Salvation Army, USA Eastern Territory with $14.3 million.
The remaining 83 organizations raised about $77 million collectively.
Charities were surveyed and the data collected was a response to the information requested from the Bureau.
