An Italian business intelligence software company has established its U.S. headquarters in Stamford, after local investors organized a $9.5 million round of capital, with the company planning to take in another $5 million.
Decisyon S.r.L., which on its website has listed a Sunnyvale, Calif. base of U.S. operations, has developed software that allow managers to better collaborate as they make strategic and operational decisions.
Customers using Decisyon in their European operations include Fiat, Merck, Novartis and Wyeth.
Decisyon’s board lists former Tom Cowan, a former IBM Corp. executive who later led the Stamford-based applications developer OutlookSoft Corp. before it was sold to SAP; and Erik Jansen, an advisor to Connecticut Innovations Inc. and a onetime partner with Pequot Ventures. Cowan and Jansen now run a consulting entity called Vecker Corp. Also on the board is William Laverack Jr., a former J.H. Whitney & Co. partner who is head of New Canaan-based Paumanok Partners L.L.C.
