Visiting Nurse Services opens in Putnam
Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester Inc. has opened a division office for Visiting Nurse Services in Putnam at 979 Route 22 in Brewster.
Putnam County Department of Health Certified Home Health Agency patients will now be served by the Brewster facility.
The county had sponsored and operated its home health agency from 1969 until 2009, when it issued a request for proposals for which Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester was the successful bidder. Through the transition, Visiting Nurse Services in Putnam has retained a majority of the county”™s home health agency workers, including nurses, social workers and home health aides.
Elias M. Nemnom has been named administrator of Visiting Nurse Services in Westchester. She succeeds former President and CEO Carol Weber, who, along with vice president for finance and operations Hector Rueda, resigned.
Nemnom most recently was interim chief financial officer at AllianceCare and has more than 30 years of health care administrative experience.
Asian grocer to fill Greenburgh vacancy
Mere months after Pathmark announced its shuttering of a Central Avenue supermarket in Hartsdale, Greenburgh Town Supervisor Paul Feiner said H Mart, an Asian supermarket chain, will soon replace it.
Offering Asian products, fish and fresh produce, H Mart has 34 locations nationwide, with a heavy presence in Queens.
Feiner said the town of Greenburgh is still pushing for another supermarket to replace the A&P on Route 119, which closed last month.
Westchester libraries get construction grants
Mamaroneck, Scarsdale, Katonah, New Rochelle and Mount Kisco libraries are among several state libraries selected to receive some of the $14 million in capital funds allotted for public library construction in the 2010 state budget.
The breakdown of monies is as follows: Mamaroneck Public Library, $101,008; New Rochelle Public Library, $50,000; Scarsdale Public Library, $111,280; Katonah Village Library, $19,945 and Mount Kisco Public Library, $6,315.
Last year, Assemblyman Robert Castelli, R-C-Goldens Bridge, announced a $118,194 grant for the Mount Kisco Public Library for the installation of electrical wiring at the new, 18,500-square-foot building, which was funded heavily by the Mount Kisco Public Library Foundation.
