How does a community assistance group raise $1.7 million between Sept. 10 and Dec. 9?
Get the expertise of local executives. That is the object of the loaned executives assisting United Way of Dutchess County in their workplace campaign fundraising efforts.
Twenty-three executives are on loan from 16 organizations to the campaign leadership team.
“They are really the backbone,” said Sheila Appel, chairwoman of United Way”™s local board of directors. “They are a talent pool that can help us meet with all the different businesses and organizations that run workplace campaigns, and serve as key liaisons that help us be successful.”?Appel also thanked the businesses “that are gracious enough to loan us such talent.”
The executives will work with Campaign Chair Barry Rothfeld and Vice Chair Joe Daily to encourage pledges and donations from businesses in the county to meet the fundraising goal of $1.7 million, which was announced at the campaign kickoff on Sept. 10.?The 12-week campaign raises Community Fund dollars used to support partnerships with more than 30 partners that aid United Way in meeting its mission to improve the lives of Dutchess County residents.
The “loaned executives” are: Bonnie Brocco of Riverside Bank; Jeff Brody, Joanne Crimi and Jamie VanDodick of IBM Corp.; Timothy J. Cunningham of Marshall & Sterling Inc.; Tracey Dimmie of Astor Services for Children & Families; Sarah Gillespie of Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union; ?Hope Glashen of MetLife Resources; Janice Governale of Emery & Webb Inc.; Marsha Graham of Hannaford, Red Hook; and, Reba-Anna Lee and Steve Sansola of Marist College.
Also taking part in the Loaned Executive program are: Michelle McCourt of Bridgeway Federal Credit Union; Kathleen Murphy of The Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse; John Parsons and Irene Reis of Rhinebeck Savings Bank; David C.
