On eve of Earth Day, Mrs. Green’s harvested by Planet Organic

Planet Organic Health Corp. is buying Mrs. Green”™s Natural Market Inc., a Scarsdale, N.Y., chain with stores in Stamford and Fairfield.
Planet Organic did not immediately disclose financial details of the sale. Mrs. Green”™s 11 stores in Westchester and Fairfield counties generate $38 million in annual revenue, roughly double that of its new Canadian parent.
Harold and June Hochberger, who founded the company in 1990, plan to remain with Planet Organic, with a possible goal of expanding into other parts of the United States.
In 2005, the Hochbergers organized the Westchester Organic Fair in Valhalla, N.Y., to raise funds for produce growers in Mississippi that were hit by Hurricane Katrina.
