Stamford is the third most-expensive city in which to build a headquarters facility in the United States, according to a new study, ahead of locales like Newark, N.J., Boston and San Jose, Calif.
Princeton, N.J.-based Boyd Co. found that Stamford trailed only New York City and San Francisco as the priciest place for a new main office, with the company estimating costs based on a 70,000 square foot facility with 325 employees.
Princeton, N.J.-based Boyd provides consults on corporate relocations, with its client base having included Stamford-based Pitney Bowes Inc. and Grolier Publishing of Danbury.
