Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie received an award for Cardiac Surgery Excellence for the third year in a row and Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck was recognized for joint replacement excellence for the second year in a row.
HealthGrades, the leading independent health care ratings organization, made the awards. The awards place both hospitals among the top 5 percent in the nation for these programs.
The recognition is based on HealthGrades”™ twelfth annual Hospital Quality in America study, which analyzes patient outcomes at virtually all of the nation”™s hospitals. Further highlighting the quality performance of both hospitals, Northern Dutchess also received the Outstanding Patient Experience Award for the second year in a row, while Vassar Brothers received the Coronary Intervention Excellence Award in 2010.
