Splinternet Holdings Inc. is acquiring Web company YFonGlobal L.L.C., two months after YFonGlobal went public in a reverse merger with a Stamford shell company.
Norwalk-based Splinternet did not immediately specify what it is paying for YFonGlobal, a Virginia company whose software is used by organizations to set up customized online social networks to support marketing campaigns, using games, communications platforms and other features. YFonGlobal customers have included Pfizer Inc., the American Hospital Association and the Sprint PCS predecessor company of Sprint Nextel.
In June, YFonGlobal reached an agreement to merge with Packetport.com Inc., a Stamford company whose stock, like Splinternet”™s, is traded on the over-the-counter bulletin board.
Splinternet was founded by James Ackerly in 2000 to develop Internet telephony technology and has produced negligible revenue the past few years.
