From Memorial Day to Labor Day, the Hudson Valley had a record of more than 20 inches of rain washing away outdoor festivities for many while draining those businesses that depend on summer tourism for needed income. Residents made the most of what the region had to offer whenever possible. What”™s not pictured are the empty stores or “for sale” signs that dotted the landscape during the summer of the Great Recession.
