Fairfield County will host three forums giving residents an opportunity to share their views on Connecticut”™s economic policy.
The Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development is holding 10 meetings statewide as it develops a strategic plan due in July 2009. The study will address transportation, technology transfer, brownfields, regulations, the work force, business costs, affordable housing, land use, taxes, the availability of capital, and energy.
Department Commissioner Joan McDonald has said she plans to release components of the plan ahead of schedule as they are completed.
The meetings are scheduled for between 5 and 8 p.m. on:
Ӣ Dec. 13 at Western Connecticut State University in Danbury;
Ӣ Jan. 10 at the University of Bridgeport; and
Ӣ Jan. 22 at the University of Connecticut Stamford.
Separately, the Connecticut Department of Transportation will hold a similar meeting Dec. 11 between 7:30 and 9:30 p.m. at Norwalk City Hall to field input on transportation needs.
