The Poughkeepsie Journal building
Â
The Poughkeepsie Journal Building in downtown Poughkeepsie will be sold to Dutchess County real estate development firm Page Park Associates in a late August closing.
Owner Gannett Co. Inc. will sign a lease with two, five-year renewal options for more than half of the second floor and the entire third floor at 85 Civic Center Plaza.
Journal operations will continue in the building. The production facility will be converted for other usage; printing will continue offsite.
“With the improvements planned, we are confident the building will generate a significant amount of interest from prospective tenants,” said Jason Page, a managing partner at Page Park Associates. “The structure will continue to be known as the Poughkeepsie Journal building.”
Steve Salomone, director of the Prudential Serls Prime Properties Commercial Group, represented the Poughkeepsie Journal and Gannett in the transaction.
Salomone called the property a “valuable asset that will provide great returns to them (the Pages) as they reposition this landmark property into a Class A multi-tenanted building.”
