Burlington Coat Factory is coming to White Plains this week.
The retail coat company is scheduled to open its 25th New York location at 275 Main St. on Aug. 29.
“Smart, savvy shoppers have a reason to celebrate,” says Michael Korot, store manager of the new Burlington Coat Factory located at Shoppes on Main.
The 82,028-square-foot location will feature a variety of the current trends in ladies”™ dresses, suits, sportswear, maternity and accessories; men”™s suits and sportswear; shoes for men, women and children; famous-label clothes for kids and, of course, coats.
“Our buyers are in-tune with the latest trends and are aware of what the consumer wants,” said Jack Moore, president of Burlington Coat Factory. “When buying for our stores, our buyers shop like our customers: choosing the latest styles from the best labels at the lowest possible price.”Â
Audrey Shapiro, a spokesperson for Burlington, said the store researches demographics when it comes into a market, such as analysis of median age, household income and employment base to “make sure we can substantiate that we can fill the 100 or so jobs we require to staff the store.
“We have some great expectations for that store,” Shapiro said.
And, noting the diverse retail base White Plains has to offer, “It makes sense that Burlington Coat Factory should be there as well,” she said.
She said the closest store to the White Plains location is five miles away in Yonkers; there are also stores in Stamford, Conn., 12 miles away, and Paramus, N.J., which is 17 miles away.
“I am very excited that Burlington Coat Factory is going to call White Plains home,” said Mayor Joseph Delfino. “They will add to the diversity of our retail base. It is a great fit for the property and I am looking forward to their presence and a partnership.”
