Greenwich police arrested the owner of Shoreline Pools Inc. last week on a charge of manslaughter, following the drowning last summer of a boy who was unable to free his arm from a pool intake valve installed by the company.
David Lionetti was released from custody after posting a $25,000 bond. Days earlier, his company”™s Stamford facility was destroyed by fire in mid-July. At deadline, authorities had yet to determine the cause of the blaze.
The boy”™s father Brian Cohn is the former president of the Stamford-based hedge fund SAC Capital Advisors L.L.C. Cohn and his wife Karen have sued both Shoreline Pools and the town of Greenwich, claiming the defendants did not provide adequate safety measures to prevent the death of their son Zachary, who was six at the time of the accident.
