For $1.5 million, Acme United Corp. is acquiring product lines of the Bloomfield-based C-Thru Ruler Co., with the exception of its scrap booking business.
C-Thru Ruler”™s non-scrap booking revenues in 2011 were approximately $2.7 million. The company was founded in 1939 in Hartford to produce rulers, triangles, curves, and protractors.
Fairfield-based Acme United sells a broad range of school supplies, as well as other products such as cutting instruments for industrial and medical applications. In the first quarter, Acme United earned about $250,000 on $16.9 million in revenue, ending the quarter with more than $4 million in cash.
