Quassy Celebrates America’s 250th with Annual Blast at the Beach 3-D Fireworks Celebration

As communities across the country prepare to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, Quassy Amusement Park & Waterpark is inviting families to mark the occasion with one of Connecticut’s longest-standing summer traditions.

Quassy’s annual Blast at the Beach returns Saturday, July 4, featuring a live DJ beach party, family activities, and a spectacular 3-D fireworks display over Lake Quassapaug.

The event comes during a historic year for both the nation and Quassy. While America celebrates 250 years of independence, Quassy is operating in its 118th season, continuing a family tradition that has welcomed generations of guests to the shores of Lake Quassapaug since 1908.

“Few things bring families together quite like the Fourth of July,” said Eric Anderson, president of Quassy Amusement Park & Waterpark. “As America celebrates this historic milestone, we’re proud to continue a tradition that has been part of Connecticut summers for more than a century.”

Beach party admission is $20 per person and includes access to the celebration from 8 to 11 p.m. Full Season Passholders receive complimentary admission as part of their season pass benefits.

The fireworks display will begin at approximately 10 p.m. Complimentary 3-D glasses will be provided to paid beach party guests for the fireworks display. Guests throughout the park may also purchase 3-D glasses for $2, with proceeds benefiting Give Kids the World Village, a nonprofit resort that provides cost-free vacations for critically ill children and their families.

Guests looking to enjoy a full day at Quassy before the fireworks can purchase the park’s special Fourth of July After 4 p.m. Combo Wristband for $38, which includes access to amusement rides and Splash Away Bay Waterpark attractions through the evening.
