The Jewish Business Network (JBN) hosted its annual Honorary Awards Breakfast at the Tarrytown House Estate Dec. 16 welcoming 200 business leaders, community leaders, government officials and professionals from across the region for a heartwarming and meaningful morning of connection, celebration and inspiration. The gathering honored outstanding individuals whose leadership and impact continue to strengthen the Westchester Jewish business community, while supporting the ongoing growth and transformative work of the JBN.
Especially during these challenging times, the event carried added significance as attendees came together to mark the holiday of Chanukah with a Menorah Lighting Ceremony. Led by government dignitaries and respected community leaders, the ceremony included special prayers for the victims and for the speedy recovery of those wounded in the recent tragic terrorist attack in Sydney, Australia.
Drawing on the timeless teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, participants reflected on the enduring message of Chanukah: “One cannot chase away darkness with a stick; rather, one must light a candle. Even a little bit of light dispels a lot of darkness.”
In the face of brutality and hatred, the JBN reaffirmed its commitment to responding with increased light – through acts of kindness, unity, mitzvot and moral leadership – to help usher in a world of peace, dignity and prosperity for all with the coming of Redemption.
Participants included Honorary Guest and Menorah Lighting Honoree
Mario J. Gabelli, chairman and CEO, GAMCO Investors Inc.;
Tara Rosenblum, anchor/reporter, News 12; Gabelli Leadership Award honorees Paul Adler, SIOR, chief strategy officer, Rand Commercial;
Adam Hammerman, vice president and CFO, New York Medical College; Brad Schwartz, partner, Zarin & Steinmetz; Friedland Young Leadership Award Honorees Samuel Adler, real estate broker, Rand Commercial; and Lee Lefkowitz, partner, Zarin & Steinmetz.
Especially during these challenging times, JBN continues to provide a vital space for Jewish professionals to unite, support one another, give back to the community and strengthen their connection to shared Jewish values, heritage and community.
Since its inception thousands of individuals have benefitted from JBN’s robust programming, which includes more than 60 programs and meetings annually. For more, visit jbnetwork.org.
