Family Services of Westchester has been awarded a $10,000 Community Grant from the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound (JLWOS) to equip a dedicated speech therapy room for special-needs preschool children enrolled in the new Prime Time program in New Rochelle.
The grant award comes following an exceptionally competitive selection process this year, with the JLWOS Grants Committee reviewing almost 40 applications and grant requests totaling more than $300,000. The funding will directly support the organization’s mission to provide essential therapeutic services to vulnerable children in the community.
“We are beyond thrilled to have been awarded a community grant by the Junior League of Westchester on the Sound,” said Joquene Hall-Ramirez, senior vice president, early childhood and head start programs for Family Services of Westchester.
The Prime-Time program represents an innovative approach to early childhood intervention, providing specialized support services to preschool-aged children with developmental needs. The dedicated speech therapy room funded by this grant will create a focused therapeutic environment specifically designed to meet the unique needs of these young learners.
