Each year, Teacher Appreciation Week, held during the first full week of May, provides an opportunity to recognize the immense contributions educators make to our communities. Optimum, the leading provider of fiber internet, mobile, TV and phone services, has announced it will make a $4,000 donation to Westchester County educators through its partnership with national education nonprofit DonorsChoose. Â
Through this donation, 20 educators from Westchester County will each be receiving a $200 DonorsChoose gift card, which they can redeem on the DonorsChoose platform to purchase tools, technologies and experiences that enhance learning opportunities and support student success.  Â
The gift cards will be distributed at The STEM Alliance’s STEM-tastic event, a free festival for over 1,000 people that brings STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math – to life with dozens of hands-on activities for children, on Friday, May 9, at 6 p.m. Â
