Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering Fair

The Regeneron Westchester Science & Engineering Fair (WESEF) is the largest high school science fair in the country.  Outstanding STEM students, from 40 different area high schools, will compete on Saturday, March 15th at Somers High School.  This year’s fair will host over 650 students, who will present their original science research projects in 16 different categories including: Behavioral Science, Health and Medicine, Computational and Bioinformatics, Engineering, Computer Science and Environmental Sciences.

These students will compete for numerous awards and prizes.  Our grand prize winners will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to compete in the REGENERON International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF), which will take place this year in Columbus, Ohio.

We are so excited to host WESEF 2025.  Our judges are so integral to the success of this large fair.  Thank you for volunteering your time to support our young science leaders.

About Regeneron WESEF

Regeneron WESEF is an amazing display of multi-year projects by the best high school science research students in Westchester, Putnam & Sullivan counties and is the regional version of the Regeneron International Science & Engineering Fair which is the larger and more global of the two Regeneron sponsored events. From our humble beginning in 2001 where we had 50 students from 12 schools, WESEF has grown to include over 500 students from 30 schools.

We have been fortunate to have had the majority of the related expenses to host the fair funded by our generous sponsors including Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Acorda Therapeutics, and Entergy. However, it would not exist without the tireless efforts of the high school research teachers from all of the public, private, and parochial schools in these counties.

Regeneron WESEF, the Westchester Science and Engineering Fair, offers high school students from our region the opportunity to present their research to scientists, business leaders, and the general public. Students prepare professional research posters detailing their projects which, in most cases, have involved complex research conducted under the guidance of a professional scientists in their field of interest.

The top 20 projects at Regeneron WESEF will be awarded the honor of representing our region at Regeneron ISEF where they will compete with over 1500 top high school research students from over 70 different countries worldwide! YEAR AFTER YEAR, WESEF FINALISTS COMPETE AND WIN AGAINST THE BEST HIGH SCHOOL RESEARCH STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD.
