Save the Sound will host a virtual press conference to unveil QuickDrops, a game-changing water quality database to serve a variety of stakeholders across the Long Island Sound region, on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2025. The press conference will be held on Zoom; please register here to receive the link.

The first database of its kind designed to collect, manage, and share water quality data specific to the Long Island Sound watershed, QuickDrops will benefit community science groups, researchers and educators, health departments, beach and water resource managers, and municipal leaders—anyone working to protect, understand, and restore water quality in Long Island Sound and the rivers that flow to it. QuickDrops will become a valuable tool in tracking water quality conditions and impacts of pollution and climate change in our region.

Speakers will include:

  • Peter Linderoth, director of healthy waters and lands, Save the Sound
  • Tripp Killin, executive director, The Jeniam Foundation (funder)
  • Jens Proche, North American sales manager, KISTERS (developer)
  • Nikki Spiller, director, Harbor Watch (user)
  • Caroline Fabian, program director, Friends of the Bay (user)

One-on-one interviews with Peter Linderoth, Save the Sound’s digital projects manager Martin Hain, or any other participants can be arranged following the Q&A portion of the press conference. Please contact David Seigerman at 917-796-6076 or dseigerman@savethesound.org to coordinate.

Save the Sound works across the Long Island Sound region to protect the Sound and its rivers, fight climate change, save endangered lands, and work with nature to restore ecosystems. More info at savethesound.org.
