Sacred Heart Greenwich in Connecticut has appointed Thomas A. McCarthy as the new director of advancement, effective Sept. 3. McCarthy, a seasoned leader with more than 18 years of experience in educational advancement, brings a wealth of experience in development, fundraising, capital campaigns, alumni and external relations, data analytics and strategic planning.
Most recently, he served as the director of institutional advancement at the Convent of the Sacred Heart, in New York City, where under his leadership, he increased fundraising targets and built strong relationships with key donors, which significantly advanced various initiatives and campaigns. Previously he served as the vice president for institutional advancement at Mount St. Michael Academy in the Bronx and held various roles at Manhattan College.

McCarthy holds a Master of Arts degree in counseling and a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education, mathematics and computer science from Manhattan College. He is also a Ph.D. candidate in administration and supervision at Fordham University, with an anticipated completion date of Spring 2025.
Sacred Heart Greenwich, founded in 1848, is an independent, Catholic all-girls, early childhood -12th grade college preparatory school with a coed early childhood program.
