Shortly after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings on June 20 for both Eastern Mountain Sports and Bob’s Stores owner GoDigital Media Group has announced the closure of all retail locations.
Bob’s Stores carries affordable clothing options with an emphasis on athletic wear. Eastern Mountain Sports also carries apparel alongside camping and outdoor goods.
Bob’s has 21 locations throughout New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Massachusetts. Going out of business sales will run through June 14 at all locations. Eastern Mountain Sports also has 24 locations across the Northeast, with plans to keep some open.
“We regret that our financial position necessitated the liquidation of Bob’s Stores,” President Dave Barton said in a statement. “Bob’s has been a stalwart of our local communities for nearly 70 years, and we know our customers remember us as having been there for major moments in their lives.”
