The Museum of Ceramic Art – New York (MoCA/NY) has launched www.moca-ny.org, a virtual museum dedicated to fostering the appreciation, understanding and enjoyment of ceramics. MoCA/NY is designed to provide visitors with an enriching, immersive online experience through its interactive Ceramic World Destinations Map (CWD) and Explore Editorial Blog.
The museum’s president is Armonk resident Judith Schwartz, a professor emeritus of New York University, where she taught studio art and advised master’s and doctoral students.
“My goal,” she said in a statement, “has been to create a dynamic, global and comprehensive online directory that would excite the traveler to the immense world of clay. Whether planning a trip, researching or learning more about the global influence and expressions created in this superb material, this site makes it possible to learn, see and connect in fresh, imaginative ways. Our global reach with articles, interviews and travel destinations enriches lives for those who desire cultural interchange and dialogue.”
