The Manhattanville College School of Nursing and Health Sciences announced it will introduce a Master’s Degree in Nursing program.
The 36-credit, online Master of Science program will start in the Spring 2024 semester. According to the school, the program is designed for nurse managers and others seeking positions in nursing leadership. Accelerated seven-week semesters will allow students to complete the program in 18 months.
“As the health care profession becomes more complex, we need nursing leaders who understand how to apply critical skills to improve the quality of patient care,” said Dr. Debra Simons, dean of the Purchase-based School of Nursing and Health Sciences. “Adding the Nurse Leader track will help build a pipeline of diverse nursing leaders who will improve the culture and environment within their own workplaces and the outcomes, efficiency, and accessibility for their patients and communities. We believe that by nurturing the values of compassion, integrity, and service, our graduates will not only excel in their clinical expertise but also make a lasting impact on the well-being of our society.”
