PepsiCo Inc. (NASDAQ:PEP) is allocating $3.6 million over the next 10 years to establish new student scholarships at Hamden, Connecticut-based Quinnipiac University.
The university will receive $100,000 annually over the next 10 years to create the PepsiCo Academic Scholarship Fund, which will be available to qualified first-year undergraduate students starting this fall.
The Purchase-based company will also provide $50,000 per year over the next 10 year to establish the PepsiCo Fund for Environmental Science and Sustainability, which will support students in financial need engaged in experiential learning, study abroad, travel, internships and other opportunities in the environmental science major, the sustainability and environmental policy major and environmental studies in Quinnipiac”™s College of Arts and Sciences. The fund may be used also for sustainability projects and initiatives across campus.
PepsiCo funding will also be used to support a variety of student activities, athletics, club sports and the annual Bobcat Weekend celebrating alumni and family connections to Quinnipiac.
