The City of Danbury launched the second round of the ARPA Small Business Assistance Program (SBAP), running from July 1 to Aug. 31.
The SBAP program provides limited, one-time direct financial assistance to eligible small businesses recovering from the pandemic. Local small businesses can apply for a share of the $325,000 American Rescue Plan Act Covid-19 federal relief funds earmarked for this program. Grants of up to $5,000 will be available to qualifying independently owned for-profit Danbury businesses that have10 or fewer employees and had less than $1.5 million of gross revenue in 2019.
Businesses that are not eligible include residential or real estate businesses, companies owned by elected officials and their immediate family members, or corporately owned or operated franchises.
Applications are available on the city”™s website.
“I know that small business is the backbone of the economy in our city, and the City of Danbury ARPA Small Business Assistance Program will inject $325,000 to these businesses to continue to deal with the recovery from the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Mayor Dean Esposito.
