Mystic Seaport will be observing Juneteenth with a performance of “Harriet Tubman: Woman with a Railroad.”
Written by and starring Adwoa Bandele-Asante, the show recreates the extraordinary life experience of Harriet Tubman from her childhood in slavery to her daring work in leading escaped slaves to freedom via the Underground Railroad, and to her dangerous missions as a spy for the Union troops during the Civil War and her work to achieve civil rights for Black Americans in the post-Civil War Era.
“Harriet Tubman: Woman with a Railroad” will be presented at the Performance Stage at 2:00 p.m. on June 19. More information and tickets are available on the Mystic Seaport website.
