Maria Trusa, CEO of Formé Medical Center and Urgent Care in White Plains, writes that “I have shared my story of being a survivor of sexual abuse at the age of 9 over 500 times, and it always amazes me how my body feels it every single time I tell it. The body really does keep the score. So why do I do this? To make sure that this does not continue to happen to other children.”
She”™s asking readers to unite with her movement Yo Digo No Mas to support the second annual Walk Against Sexual Abuse of Our Children on Saturday, April 29, in Yonkers, starting at 11 a.m. at City Hall. The goal for the walk is $200,000, which will be used to help continue to raise awareness of sexual abuse and educate communities, families and the public at large.
”¯“Our mission is simple,” she writes, “to stop this silent pandemic and heal survivors.”
