Fairfield County might be a nice place to live in Connecticut, but according to a new ranking by the online data resource Niche.com it is not among the best places in the state to buy a home.
In its 2003 rankings, Niche.com cited three Fairfield County localities in its top 10 listing of Best Places to Live in Connecticut: Riverside came in fourth, Old Greenwich in sixth and Southport in seventh, with West Hartford topping that list.
However, no Fairfield County locality cracked the higher levels of the list for Best Places to Buy a Home in Connecticut ”“ Noank came in first place on that list and the highest ranking Fairfield County municipality was Wilton in 54th place.
Only two Fairfield County cities were in the top 10 for Most Diverse Places to Live in Connecticut: Bridgeport in fifth place and Stamford”™s West Side in eighth place. But the county dominated all of the top 10 list for the Best Public Schools in Connecticut: Westport ranked first, followed by Byram, New Canaan, Old Greenwich, Riverside, Pemberwick, Glenville, Greenwich, Cos Cob and Darien.
