New York Stewart International Airport is reportedly in talks to bring an international carrier to its facility.
According to a Mid-Hudson News report, Orange County Tourism Director Amanda Dana acknowledged that an unnamed carrier had expressed interest in the airport.
“There is one international airline that is looking to us ”“ an international airline ”“ from the Caribbean, direct flights, and hopefully that will be something we talk about next time I meet with you,” said Dana before a committee meeting of the Orange County Legislature.
Currently, Iceland”™s Play Airlines is the only international carrier serving the airport.
I would think service between Cancun, Jamaica, Dominican Republic or Puerto Rico should do well if competitively priced from Stewart at least seasonally. Cancun could probably work for the entire year. I applaud you for the story, nobody else reported on this story ! Well done.
