Macy”™s Cross County in Yonkers was chosen as one of 36 stores across the country to premiere STORY, the retailer”™s new experiential concept shop.
According to Macy”™s, STORY shops will cover an average of 1,500 square feet within each department store and will present narrative-driven merchandising and programming centered around a theme that changes every few months. For its inaugural presentation, STORY will focus on “color” and feature products for men, women and children and special events that celebrate the color palette. MAC Cosmetics, Crayola and Levi’s Kids are among the brands to be highlighted in STORY”™s launch, along with products from 70 small-business vendors.
“The discovery-led, narrative experience of STORY gives new customers a fresh reason to visit our stores and gives the current Macy”™s customer even more reason to come back again and again throughout the year,” said Jeff Gennette, chairman and CEO of Macy”™s Inc.
The Cross County store is the only regional Macy”™s store to host a STORY shop in its initial rollout. The retailer is opening STORY shops across 15 states, including five stores in California, four in New Jersey and three in New York City.
