This year”™s recipient of the Lillian Vernon Award by the nonprofit Women”™s Enterprise Development Center Inc. (WEDC) ”” which provides entrepreneurs with the skills, tools and resources they need to start their own businesses, to expand them and to achieve economic self-sufficiency ”” is Lisa Cordasco, owner of New Crystal Restoration, which provides emergency fire and water damage restoration. In 2008, Cordasco took over the family business and focused on using green products. Since then she has grown the company into a successful multimillion-dollar business located in Port Chester. Motivated by a desire to keep all property owners safe, New Crystal Restoration features botanical-based products. The business is a certified WBE by New York state and New York City.
Cordasco has contributed to her community by volunteering for organizations that assist individuals with autism and developmental disabilities as well as women”™s health issues.
Tickets to WEDC”™s Fall Networking and Wine Tasting Event are $40 each, and include a light buffet, wine and nonalcoholic drinks. Business sponsorships are also available.
