Jerry Albertie has been named the new Commissioner of Information Technology for Orange County, announced County Executive Edward A. Diana.
Albertie was serving as the county IT department’s director of client services prior to this appointment. He has been a key member of the county’s IT team for more than 25 years.
“Jerry has truly worked his way up the ladder in the county’s IT Department,” Diana said in the announcement. “He has seen many changes and advancements in technology over the years and has never shied away from a challenge. He’s worked hard to develop himself as a leader and earn this important position as IT Commissioner.”
Albertie, a graduate of SUNY Orange where he earned a degree in business data processing, lives in Goshen with his wife and family.
The appointment is subject to approval by the Orange County Legislature.
