Stratford”™s Sikorsky Aircraft has announced new contracts with military agencies in Brazil and Israel.
Sikorsky signed a four-year contract with the Brazilian Air Force to provide logistical support for its 16 UH-60L Black Hawk helicopters. The contract focuses on fleet sustainment resulting from local storage of commonly required spare parts, along with assistance from a regional Sikorsky field service technician and direct technical support from Sikorsky Engineering.
The Brazilian Air Force acquired the helicopters between 2006 and 2013, and the financial details of new contract were not disclosed.
Separately, the U.S. Department of State has approved a possible Foreign Military Sales deal for Sikorsky to supply the Israeli Air Force with 18 CH-53K King Stallion heavy-lift helicopters.
According to a Jerusalem Post report, the deal, which is estimated at $3.4 billion, also includes up to 60 T408-GE-400 engines and up to 36 embedded GPS/Inertial Navigation Systems with Selective Availability/Anti-Spoofing Module, along with an unspecified number of GAU-21 .50-caliber machine guns.
