Patrick White has been sentenced to prison for six months after state officials found he made nearly $4 million by committing payroll tax fraud through his Yonkers-based business.
White operated R & L Construction Inc., a contracting firm. From 2005 to 2011, he improperly reported employees”™ wages. In doing this, he accumulated $3.8 million in unpaid payroll tax liabilities, according to U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York Preet Bharara and Shantelle P. Kitchen, an agent with the New York office of the Internal Revenue Service.
White will be required to pay back the money owed to the IRS and has been ordered to sell some property to do so. After he’s released from prison, White has also been sentenced to and additional year of home confinement.
