United Rentals Inc. of Stamford, which operates 888 equipment rental locations in 49 states and Canada, recently announced growth plans in specialized arenas that include moving fluids, internal environments and trench safety.
The United Rentals Pump Solutions branches in Atlanta, Carlsbad, N.M., Elmwood Park, N.J., Hayward, Calif., Saskatoon, Sask., and Prince George, B.C., will provide what the company terms “fluid transfer solutions for industrial and commercial applications” ranging from high-volume and high-pressure pumps to smaller ”“ even portable ”“ units. The work will include custom fabrication.
The United Rentals Tool Solutions branches in Charlotte, N.C., and Ridgefield Park, N.J., will now provide temporary and long-term onsite tool management, including inventory tracking, inspections and maintenance.
The United Rentals Power & HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) branch in Amarillo, Texas, will provide power, heating, cooling and ventilation solutions for commercial, industrial and governmental customers as well as for disaster recovery services.
The United Rentals Trench Safety branch in Lake Charles, La., will now provide excavation support and manage company work on entries to confined spaces.
The company offers some 3,300Â types of equipment for rent with a total original cost of $8.39 billion and employs a total 12,500.
Paul McDonnell, senior vice president for specialty operations, said, “The role of our specialty rental network continues to grow in importance within our companywide strategy for growth and profitability. Throughout 2015, we will continue to expand our footprints for pump solutions, tool solutions, power and HVAC and trench safety to meet demand for these services.”
