New stamps celebrate Paddington, Britain’s most beloved bear
The U.K.”™s Royal Mail is now offering a 10-stamp series celebrating the 65th anniversary of the debut of Paddington, Britain”™s most beloved marmalade-loving bear.
Six stamps are taken from Ivor Wood”™s strip cartoons of Paddington, which first appeared in the London Evening News newspaper in the late 1970s. The other our stamps are based on bear”™s appearance in his 1975 television series for the BBC.
“Paddington continues to bring cheer to generations of children worldwide,” said David Gold, director of external affairs and policy at the Royal Mail. “These delightful stamps will brighten up the day of anyone receiving mail with a touch of Paddington”™s charm.”
More information on the Paddington stamps is available on the Royal Mail website.
