Yonkers cinema complex goes dark

Regal Entertainment Group will close its UA Movieland Yonkers 6 cinema complex after screenings on June 24.

The six-theater complex at 2548 Central Park Ave. opened with four movie screens in 1977.

Executives at Regal”™s Knoxville, Tenn., headquarters could not be reached for comment. A Yonkers Movieland employee confirmed the closing after shows this weekend.
