Pace launches cyber security institute

Pace University”™s Seidenberg School of Computer Science and Information Systems said it is opening an institute to address the need for more advanced training in the field of cyber security.

Starting in the fall 2013, the Seidenberg Cyber Security Institute, which will be based at the Goldstein Academic Center on Pace”™s Pleasantville campus, will offer a five-course program culminating in a new certification of chief information security management officer.

The following year the institute plans to start offering a master of science degree in information security management, with a concentration in security planning and auditing.

University officials cited an immediate demand for specialists who are trained in the field of cyber security, particularly with the increasing number of cyber-related threats that are dealt with by local and federal government agencies.
